Attendance

We believe that high attendance rates are essential for pupils to get the most out of their school experience, including their attainment, wellbeing, and wider life chances Excellent attendance enables a child to maximise their learning potential; become emotionally resilient; and prepares them for becoming young adults.

The pupils with the highest attainment at the end of key stage 2 and key stage 4 have higher rates of attendance over the key stage compared to those with the lowest attainment.

Is absence is unavoidable, please inform the office by 9.00am on your child's first day of absence and every day thereafter.

If we have not been informed of an absence a text message will be sent to the parent/guardian after the close of register.  This will be followed by a phone call later in the morning if no response is received.  We reserve the right to call all named contacts  and make home visits if we do not receive first day contact.

If leave from the school is needed, then a ‘Request for Leave’ form must be completed at least 5 days in advance. Please note that the School can no longer authorise any holiday during term-time. Holiday that totals or exceeds 6 days, or holiday plus unauthorised absences totalling or exceeding 6 days, over a 12 week period will mean that a referral has to be made to the Local Authority where a fine may be issued.

Please refer to our attendance policy for further consequences of poor attendance and punctuality.
