Lansdowne Infants is part of The de Ferrers Trust. We are a Multi Academy Trust currently based in Staffordshire and Derbyshire. The Trust consists of three Secondary Academies and four Primary Academies.

The Candidate

We are looking for a self- motivated, hardworking and reliable person to join our friendly and welcoming team. The Caretaker will assist in providing an excellent premises management service for the working needs of students, staff and other site users of Lansdowne Infants.

You will be expected to take responsibility for the daily running of all site related matters including the provision of maintenance, janitorial, cleaning and security services. Be able to resolve problems as they arise, prioritising tasks as required, work under own initiative and take pride in all of your work.

To be successful in the role you should be able to demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills and be able to relate well to children and interact with them in a friendly and positive manner. Previous experience as a Caretaker or experience in the building trade is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

There is also a Caretaker vacancy at Eton Park Juniors, another school within our Trust. It may therefore be beneficial to visit both sites before making an application.

The Candidate

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who really cares about helping children to succeed. We are looking for someone who is kind, reliable and has a passion for working in the classroom, We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and builds rapport well with staff and students alike. 

To be successful in this role, you will have a good knowledge of current practices on the best ways to support children’s learning and behaviour.  You will also need a  good understanding of areas of literacy, numeracy and science. You will hold a NVQ level 3 for Teaching assistants or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.

An ideal position if you are considering a career in teaching. It will give you an opportunity to see different teaching and learning styles as well as experience and appreciate  wider school life. You will have the ability to attend  the de Ferrers Trust 'Teacher training seminars'.
